Casa Elefante

(Website)”

Sempre quiseram comprar capulanas?

Mostro o resultado final mal tenhas as peças!

“Capulana is a fabric that in Mozambique is very used and carries a great cultural importance: every typical Mozambican woman carries a capulana with her to go to a wedding ceremony, days of mourning, when she carries her baby on her back or when she goes to visit a family member. They come in various colors and designs from the north and south of Mozambique. There are also capulanas from other African countries. (Website)”

Ever wanted to buy capulanas? Are you in Maputo?

You can always go to Casa Elefante, where you can find capulanas of different types and designs, at reasonable prices (in my opinion). I had already been told a lot about this store, but I never thought it would take so long to decide what to buy. After making another “friend”, Sr. Antonio, who seems to be the best seller of this store, I was able to decide what to bring with me. In the end, I left the store with 7 capulanas and a handkerchief …

Even now I think I did a good shopping! Two of them have already been delivered to Josefina (a seamstress in Pemba) to make a dress and a skirt. I hope they look amazing!!! I’ll show you the final result as soon as I have my clothes!

  1. I was visiting Maputo this past May of 2017. I purchased many beautiful capulanas from Casa Elefante. I would like to purchase at least 100 more. Can someone contact me here in the U.S. as soon as possible? I live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and my telephone number is 215-748-4912. Although I am providing an email address, and there is a 7 hour time difference, I would prefer to have a telephone conversation with a representative of Casa Elefante to discuss the details. I hope this transaction is possible, as I am keenly interested in acquiring the capulanas as soon as possible.
